LI: apply inquiry, literacy and numeracy skills to learn about the RWC.
For this activity we had to one of our literacy activities that was called rugby events. We had to find 3 famous events in rugby world cup history. I did the bottom well my rest of the group did the top 2. When we found an event or moment in the rugby world cup we also had to add an image of the event.
I am in Year 6 student at Panmure Bridge School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Learning Space 1, and my teachers are Mr Wong and Mr Ogilive.

Kiwi Sport | Swimming
LI : To learn new life saving skills well using a life jacket.
This was our last session for swimming so we had some fun and used life jackets. We all got a life jacket an we went in the pool before we entered the pool we did a safe entry from what we learnt last week. We did got in a chain with a bunch of people by putting our hand in their life jacket and try to get from one side of the pool to another. We put our heads back and all of us used our legs to kick so we can move faster
We then did a huddle. So a group of people close together to keep warm by wrapping arms around each other if we were trapped in the ocean we would put old people or kids in the middle. Next was the H.E.L.P position. Which means heat escape lessening position. Basically we put our knees to our chest to keep us warm in emergencies. We tried to do a handstand underwater with the life jacket. But it could not be done but it could if someone pushed us down.
The last learning we did with the life jacket was how to enter water safely well wearing the life jacket. We first put one arm on a shoulder well another arm well be behind our head (to make sure we did not hit the wall with our head). Then step forward into the pool until you have fallen off (not like a jump into the pool).

RWC / Rugby Players
LI: apply inquiry, literacy and numeracy skills to learn about the RWC
In this activity for the RWC (Rugby World Cup) We had to search to find out the positions for these rugby players and also find out there caps and age. A cap is a try (a try is worth 5 points in rugby). After we found out the rugby players age we also added photos of them.

Inquiry | Rube goldberg machine
LI : To make a Rube Goldberg machine to complete a challenge
The challenge for our Rube Goldberg machine was to turn on a computer without using our hands (Rube Goldberg did not make the simple machines he used the simple machines). This challenge went on for a few weeks the video is our final results
We used 4/6 simple machines, we used the inclined planes to help travel a marble and car, then a wheel and axle (which is the car) we used it to hit someone so they can do an action. Next was the pulley that had a block attached with it, the block would the hit the power button which will then turn on the computer. The last simple machine we used was the lever (dominos) which will hit me to then make me to turn on the pulley.
We made the inclined planes out of a meter ruler, The wheel and axle or car was just a small hot wheel car. The pulley which was the hardest to create The pulley had weighing bars taped together facing horizontally, Then a string wrapped around to hold the block with a enough string left to make the pulley go up and down. And the dominos was already in the classroom so we did not need to make it
The hardest part of the challenge was testing it over and over again until its right and also making the pulley, because one of our group mates did not make the pulley so we had to make one with class materials.

World time | Rugby world cup
LI: apply inquiry, literacy and numeracy skills to learn about the RWC.
This week we are doing a RWC (rugby world cup) challenge, We are using our skills we have learned this year so far. This includes numeracy, literacy and inquiry. Our first numeracy task was world time,we basically had to search what JST (japan standard time) to New zealand time and to other countries. The countries on the table show what time in the world the will world cup final will happen.
AM means ante meridiem, that means before midday like 12:00, post meridiem which means after 12:00. Massive countries like Russia have different time zones unlike small countries like Fiji that has a uniform timezone (uniform timezone means the same time).

Faulty Reasoning
LI : To understand faulty reasoning.
There are four types of faulty reasoning there is, Over generalization which is like a hyperbole but over generalization is making a statement, that includes everyone when there are exceptions. Next is a bias argument when is what you think. Contradiction is when you make an argument but you provide evidence that goes against the statement. Then there is illogical or simplified assumption like saying bananas are purple. And lastly the last faulty reasoning is circular reasoning when is when you use the same reasons over and over again.
Our task was to read a text and take parts of it to figure out what parts of it are faulty reasoning. Some could be over generalization in two parts of the text and so on. There were three short messages of arguments saying that they want change for a subject.
