LI : to learn about patupaiarehe and the geography

patupaiarehe are fairy's that live in forests. The image above talks about the patupaiarehe. patupaiarehe are scared of sunlight and shark oil. Before this we read a story call ihenga its about a Maori chief who explores new zealand. One day went he was doing a adventure with two dogs. He found a river he went up the rive and found a water fall he went up and found a lake. One of the dogs was thirsty so he drank the water and fell in a vortex and died. The chief name the lake after one of his dogs. 

He then went up the forest to find smoke. He heard there was patupaiarehe that live in the forest.So he got some shark oil. And found a patupaiarehe the chief was thirsty but the patupaiarehe noticed he had shark oil on and disappeared he named the forest after from he drank from.

This week for Maori we talked about the patupaiarehe.The image above tells what a patupaiarehe is.A short explanation is that a patupaiarehe is a pale white spirit that's sometimes hostile to humans and has magical powers.Anyway our teacher told us the that two army's of patupaiarehe had war one army was at waiatarua and another was at the huna ranges.They both fought at Pakuranga.

Today I did maori.We frist had to watch a video it talked about the history of new zealand.It was about how new zealand was made the death of the people who made it and more.The video told us lots.The next thing we had to do is fine a panther.I found spellman.We were numbed and had to fine our number on our sheet of paper.The paper had words were we had to fine words were we had to write in moari.The task was hard and fun as we learnt new words.The title means "words in maori" and use the the pictures to fine what the words mean.
