Maths
LI: To explain and teach how to divide fractions.
This week we learnt to divide fractions, we did 5ths,halves,10ths,3rds and 4ths. We then learnt how to divide sets of fractions using different numbers.

Fractions
We got in groups to find the differences for halves and one half. For halves that means then one, and one half is a single half. We also wrote what we think a fraction is, a fraction is half a equal of an object. The maths this week was mostly about fractions, we even made a physical example of a fraction using paper.

Word Definitions
LI : To research.
Introduction
We had a to research 21 words and their function well under 45 minutes. We first got in a group of three, one of our members in the group made the document well another would make a grid and the last member will copy and paste the words.
Learning
when we found the words/meanings of the words, we had to make them relate to what we think the next topic for maths might be for the next four weeks. After we shared the meanings of the words, the class had to think in their groups what they think the topic is. The next topic was origami planes and aerodynamics.

Maths
LI: to recall core skills and knowledge for addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and place value.
Maths this week was about recapping what we learnt in this year to prepare for the test next week. We recapped what we learnt by doing a quiz. The quiz included addition and subtraction by using time and also decimals. We also recapped our times tables and basic facts. We also did division and grouping.
We also had to find out the area and perimeter for shapes. There was a shape and the
measurements were on it. You can find out the perimeter by adding all the sides or measurements together, and you find out the area by multiplying the height and width. We also recapped on our fractions by sharing fractions, identifying fractions, and fractions of sets.
Some of strategies people used was using our basic facts. Tidy numbers, place value, repeated addition subtraction, standard algorithm, rounding and compensating and reversing.

World time | Rugby world cup
LI: apply inquiry, literacy and numeracy skills to learn about the RWC.
This week we are doing a RWC (rugby world cup) challenge, We are using our skills we have learned this year so far. This includes numeracy, literacy and inquiry. Our first numeracy task was world time,we basically had to search what JST (japan standard time) to New zealand time and to other countries. The countries on the table show what time in the world the will world cup final will happen.
AM means ante meridiem, that means before midday like 12:00, post meridiem which means after 12:00. Massive countries like Russia have different time zones unlike small countries like Fiji that has a uniform timezone (uniform timezone means the same time).

Maths / Art
LI: to earn and look after money by creating with maths.
This week we are doing art, This is a draft/plan for what were going to draw. We can use dye, paint, pencil or so on. This is only small so I can add more detail but it will be big with a mixture of colours. My space is for me to draw, 3.5 cms vertical and 4.7 cms horizontal.

Proportions facts | WIP
LI : To solve proportions.
This week we learnt how to solve proportions. Not only that we learnt about the proportion constant which can be hard to find in a proportion question. My group has spilt up the work and me and my partner are making proportion facts. Its a quiz that has 10 questions some of them ask what a proportion is, and some have a question asking what the proportion constant is. This is due on 2/9/2019 which is next week on monday.

Maths | Ratios (WIP)
LI : Earn and look after money by creating maths.
An example of a ratio question is how much sharks to people are there? Lets say there are 6 sharks and 4 people the answer would be "There are 6 sharks to 4 people" the ratio is 6:4. A simplified way of solving a ratio still going with the shark questions is 3:2. By just halving it the number we get a simple answer.
My group is making a slide show about ratios. This is a WIP (work in progress). So not everyone has done the correct answers for each slide, and put the answers for each slide. We all also split up the work equally. We also teach the skill for how to simplified way to slove a ratio problem.

Maths | WIP
LI: to earn and look after money by creating with maths.
We learnt how to add and subtract fractions. And what the least common multiple one example would be whats the least common multiple of 5 & 6 the answer would be 30 because 5 x 6 = 30 and 6 x 5 = 30 there both the same number so it's the least common.
This week me and Vayan started the how to subtract and add fractions. This is a WIP which mean's work in progress so some questions are wrong and lead to the wrong places like if you click the right question it might be wrong.

Fractions of sets | WIP
LI : to earn and look after money by creating with maths.
This week for commissions our group made a game about fractions of sets. We all agreed to do the work
because we all learnt about it and because a game would be easy and give us a few points. The slide is a
WIP (work in progress) because we need to check the answers and make sure that game works.

fractions of sets one example of a question for fractions of sets would be like "What is 1/2 of 8" The answer would 4 because half of 8 is 4. If the question was 3/5 of 12 it would not be possible because it would go into decimals.

Maths | Quiz
LI: to earn and look after money by creating with maths.
This week we did a level 1 job. We are a group and deiced to spilt up the work and do different levels. This job was done quick and was a quiz form. The job was to make a piece of work of basic addition facts to 20. Me and Spelman quickly did the job. Below this paragraph is what we are doing this term
This term were learning how to manage money. Well were doing this we have companies which is our group there can be disasters that cost us money and it can affect groups of people. We have insurance to make it so we don't pay as much, rent we need to pay each week and work we need for money for upgrades for our company. There are also different levels of work for more money and bonus for the work we do such as quality work and a speed boost.
