Maori/English Names of the Planets

The task for inquiry this week was to make a google slideshow with information and the English/Maori names of the planets in our solar system. We then had to make a video on how to pronounce the Maori and English names for the planets in our solar system. In the video we had to add in some quick facts as well. This week for reading we learnt how to research. In this task we had to find out keywords and facts about the text lagoon hoping. The images from the book were mixed up and we had to find out the order the pages are in. When we were finding out the keywords we had to define one of them and add an image to suit the keyword.

Kiwi sport

This week for kiwi sport we learnt new skills they were called cat leap,scale,the turn and more.

Rotation 1. Back roll on a wedge and on ground then back roll,straddle,front/back/side support then two straight jumps then handstand. Then run up and straight jump and land then run up straight jump and forward roll.

Rotation 2. Handstand on stick then on bars swinging then practising our cat leap and scale then swinging on big bars and front/side/back support.

Rotation 3. Practise going on balancing bar without stairs then cat leap on small line, bunny hops on plank then forward roll on plank.

Kiwi can

This week for kiwi can we talked about responsibility and had a new catch phrase. The frist game we did was called 21. Next we talked about the type of responsibilitys we have in our school or home. And the effects might happen if we don't do that responsibility and what happens when we do that responsibility.


The last game we did was a responsibility game it was about setting goals for us that we had to complete at the end of the term. We had to write three goals per person so at the end we can share what our goals are.

Paper and plastic fractions | maths

LI: to identify and count fractions.
This week for maths we learnt about division. Not only that but unit fractions but more. We difend words so we can use them for our slide. This task was a group task so it would be easyer. We had questions that we had to answer as well. We learnt about the parts of a fraction and talk about how division is a maths operation.

Today for cybersmart we learnt how to attribute. We found images on pixabay to make it attribute. On the last image is steps on how to attribute an image.

This week for maori we learnt about two stars. There were storys about the two stars. Next we learnt/ found out words in maori. We had to find an image about the words or we could write words up to 10 in maori and use stars.
