Cybersmart

LI: to understand legal use of images.
For cybersmart we were learning about legal and illegal. The students and teacher talked about how you can find legal images and illegal images and how you can spot the difference. You can find legal images by looking at the license. We had to find two sites that let you have images that you can share and use. (allowed by the owner of the image) We then looked for illegal images you can tell its illegal  by looking at the licence we then searched we then wrote the definitions of legal images and illegal images.

Kiwi Sport

LI : To learn the basic grip on a tennis racket
The first thing we did before picking up a racket and playing tennis was a warm up. So we got into pairs, and one person dropped a ball way above someone's hands. The person had to try and flip their hands in time to catch the ball, this was a warm up to test our reactions.

After that we picked up a tennis racket and learned the forehand and backhand technique, one hand had to be at the bottom of the racket, this hand was our dominant hand. Well the backhand had two hands  of the racket dominate at the same time, one hand was at bottom and the other hand holds above the other hand.

Maori

LI: To learn about mario and the maori language.
One of the first things we did during maori was finish unfinished work from last week or the week before. Our group did that for a while but before we did anything else we had to choose a new group name. We decided our new name would be "wakandan", after that we sat on the mat our maori teacher speak in maori and then tell us what it means in maori. She would also use maori phrases from last week and the week before.

Kiwi Can

LI : To learn how to be a kind and respectful person
This week was about respecting ourselves and other people and how we do it. we recapped on what we had learnt last week. Our first energizer was called follow the leader, the leader (who was picked randomly) would have to make their group do a task such as make a group clap twice in sync.

We had around thirty seconds to practice before showing the whole class what progress we had made the expectation of the leader was to be able to take control and remember the tasks that had to be done.

Next was talking in partners about our strength and weakness, like what we think we are good at and what we think we need to improve on. Later on we played human knot in our same groups the challenge was tryin to get out of the human knot and be untangled.

Writing | Editing

LI: To revise the structure and reaffirm the marking criteria.
For writing we had to make another imaginative recount. About winninsomething, like ow all of our second recounts was about winning a competition, and writing about how we feel. For the editing we had to highlight what we would change in our writing my recount was about winning the handball competition.

Companies | Business

LI : What is a business
We first got in groups of eight, we would have to sort out where a business would go/categorise as. For example let's say there's a restaurant called KFC it would be categorized under the food category. The category our groups had are in the top images, there were more but we didn't get enough time. Our goal for the inquiry session was to sort out as many companies in where we think they go.

Reading | Novel study

LI : To learn more about the novel we read
We were doing novel studies. But before we started to read we would get in groups of five and make bookmarks so we can put it on the page we left off. The bookmark had to include what we think makes a good reader. The novel i'm reading this week is the witches by roald dahl. Each person in our reading groups would have their own book to choose from. The teacher would give us a reading goal like how far into the book we had to read. Next week there will be activities for us to do thats has to do with the novel.

Word Definitions

LI : To research.
Introduction
We had a to research 21 words and their function well under 45 minutes. We first got in a group of three, one of our members in the group made the document well another would make a grid and the last member will copy and paste the words.

Learning
when we found the words/meanings of the words, we had to make them relate to what we think the next topic for maths might be for the next four weeks. After we shared the meanings of the words, the class had to think in their groups what they think the topic is. The next topic was origami planes and aerodynamics.

Maori

LI : To learn new words in maori.
The first thing we did was talk with fire odie. She would ask us new questions from last week, she would write what the phrase/word means in maori. And write in english what it means so we can read the question, if we have forgotten.

The next task was like that but this time we had a grid with words and our group had to divide and conquer the worksheet. Our group would use maori dictionary to help find the meaning. The repeated words like "roa" or "toa" would mean that they had multiple meanings instead of one.

For kiwi can we split up in 2 groups this will be important later. We first re-capped on our topic last week. And talked about respecting ourselves, and the catch phrase. The first activity we did was called versus so the kiwi can leaders would say which is better baked beans or spaghetti and the class had to choose what they think and provide a reason.

When that was over we the class spilt we were now playing wisdom vs might we were on might and we had to do physical challenges such as getting with a partner and trying get up without using our hands well ours is warped around, the next is getting in a circle warping our hands around each other and as a group get up the ground without using our hands. The last thew would be making a human pyramid without falling.

Maths

LI: to recall core skills and knowledge for addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and place value.

Maths this week was about recapping what we learnt in this year to prepare for the test next week. We recapped what we learnt by doing a quiz. The quiz included  addition and subtraction  by using time  and also decimals. We also recapped our times tables and basic facts. We also did division and grouping.

We also had to find out the area and perimeter for shapes. There was a shape and the
measurements were on it. You can find out the perimeter by adding all the sides or measurements together, and you find out the area by multiplying the height and width. We also recapped on our fractions by sharing fractions, identifying fractions, and fractions of sets.

Some of strategies people used was using our basic facts. Tidy numbers, place value, repeated addition subtraction, standard algorithm, rounding and compensating and reversing.

Writing

LI : To revise the structure of a Imaginative recount and reaffirm the marking criteria.
TREE is what we used to write our Imaginative recount in. TREE stands for title, reveal, events, ending. The reveal had to have a who, when, where. We made a Imaginative recount pretending that we had just won the lottery and won one million dollars. In the whole recount by the time we finished the recount all of the money has to be gone. The ending would have to say what we thought about the day.

After we wrote the imaginative recount we got with a partner to mark our work, we would swap chrome books and read each other's work. The person who made a recount would give themselves a mark and the person who checking the work would either agree or disagree.
